Weapon Seminar 2003

In these two photos, one can see a possible defense against a longer weapon (which in many respects, resembles the "Okinawan Jo" or short staff.  In this series, Sensei  has already first deflected the barrel away from his line of fire.  He then pivots alongside and into the opponent, using his own left arm as a fulcrum over which to tilt the long gun into the head of the attacker.  Once shocked in this manner, the attacker can be wrestled free of the weapon and the defender now has further protection against other perpetrators.  Again, it is unlikely that persons in this area might find street crime so dangerous but terrorist attacks may use modern weapons to achieve a state of panic and disorder among civilians.
