Egami Shigeru Sensei was a student of Gichen Funakoshi Sensei.  He preserved the Shotokai lineage of karate begun by Funakoshi Soke.  Harada Sensei studied under Egami Sensei, Shiwara Sensei studied from Harada Sensei and Gagnon Sensei Studied under Shiwara Sensei.  Sensei Gagnon is 6th Degree (Rokudan) in Karate Do Shotokai and is also given the honorable title of Renshi (half master or "small master")
